Vanity Fair cancels Tinseltown Oscar night
Conceit Fair has cancelled its annual Academy Awards party on 24 Feb even though the writers club is said to be on track for a possible consider with studios.
A statement posted on VanityFair.com said: "After much consideration, and in support of the writers and everyone else affected by this strike, we receive decided that this is non the reserve yr to hold our yearbook Oscar political party."
The powder magazine added: "We want to compliment all of this year's nominees and we front fore to hosting our 15th Oscar company next twelvemonth."
The annual post-Oscar soiree much lures more luminaries than the ceremony itself and the event has been a regular for partygoers since its origination in 1994.
The night's big winners and nominees typically plow out, along with A-listers including Angelina Jolie, Brad George Dibdin Pitt, Oprah Winfrey, Jack Nicholson, Madonna Louise Ciccone, Cher, Sean William Penn, Joni Mitchell and Al Gore, world Health Organization have attended the party in previous years.
Amour propre Fair editor in chief Graydon Carter decided to strike down the party because even if the three-month writers strike was resolved earlier the Academy Awards, its impression on Tinseltown was belike to tarry.
In a statement Carter said: "Inasmuch as Dressing table Bazaar is a collection of writers, photographers and artists, we do feel ourselves in aligned solidarity with the writers, directors and actors in the film business."
